||A former railway station, with old railway carriages now in use as gallery space. Quirky and interesting! There is also a cafe (which is good to visit after the Aberedw Rocks Walk).

||Brecon cathedral is thought to be on the site of an earlier Celtic church. A new church was built on the orders of Bernard de Neufmarché, the Norman knight who conquered the kingdom of Brycheiniog in 1093. Talking of time passing, look for Doctor Who's signature in the visitor's book. There a great cafe ("Pilgrims Tearooms and Licensed Restaurant") here, too!

||A modern theatre, arts and community venue: with a theatre auditorium, art gallery, conference venue, restaurant with local Welsh cuisine, a bar, and community spaces. The venue attracts acts ranging from stand up comedians to folk singers and full orchestras, both national and international. It has also been a venue for parts of the Brecon Jazz Festival weekend.

||The Royal Welsh Showground hosts over 400 events each year. As well as the Royal Welsh Show in July (one of the largest agricultural shows in the the UK), the Smallholding and Countryside Festival in May, and Wonderwool Wales in April, there are exhibitions and trade fairs, conferences and business meetings, livestock events, wedding receptions, antique shows, and more.

||This historical Grade II listed building is next to the River Wye. Wyeside Arts Centre is a venue for live and visual arts, cinema, and live satellite broadcasts, with two auditoriums, gallery, meeting space, a working space for visual artists, and a bar and foyer.

||A very friendly arts and performance venue hosting live music (the Open Mic evenings are especially good!), plays and poetry readings. With a cafe/bar, too. The Globe at Hay is home to The Institute of Art and Ideas, a charitable trust founded to promote free thinking, creativity and debate.
